Integrated Kun Tao Summer Camp 2026
The annual gathering of Integrated Kun Tao instructors and students of all ages and levels of
experience was held in Peterborough from 21 st – 23 rd August 2026. Each morning, members
met in the beautiful surroundings of Ferry Meadows Country Park for Qi Gong practice and
training in unarmed techniques from the late Grandmaster Brian Jones’ system. This
included practicing a paired sequence of moves derived from the Kun Tao version of the
Yang Family Long Form of Tai Chi Chuan, as well as exploring applications of a Shantung
Black Tiger form taught to Grandmaster Brian by Tjoa Khek Kiong.
After lunch, members moved to Orton Waterville Village Hall where participants trained
different parts of Brian Jones’ Integrated Kun Tao System according to their interests and
experience. Some trained with Tai Chi or Wing Chun weapons (broadsword, narrow sword,
spear, staff, butterfly swords), while others focused on Escrima, Shantung Black Tiger or the
Da Lu paired Tai Chi sequence. Throughout, there was a strong focus on considering the
similarities and differences between the different arts and techniques, and on understanding
the fundamental concepts and principles of the System.
Thank you once again to Master Ricky Crofts for sharing his vast knowledge!
Next year’s Summer Camp will be held from 20 th – 22 nd August 2027. See ‘Events’ page for more details.

Integrated Kun Tao Spring Camp 2026
On 26 th February, Master Ricky Crofts – the Head of our System – along with Master Mark
Corcoran, Rin Hands and Martyn Weeds travelled from the UK to Germany for 3 days’
training with the Bonn-based members of our Integrated Kun Tao family.
Friday and Saturday began with training the opening section of the Kun Tao version of the
Yang Family Long Form on both left and right sides, while on Sunday Master Mark led the
group in morning Qi Gong practice. The highlight of the weekend was the opportunity for
instructors and students to learn a rarely-taught Baat Jaam Do (butterfly knives) version of
the Biu Ji Wing Chun Form from Master Ricky. Over the three days, there were also
opportunities to work on the Tai Chi Narrow Sword Form, as well as basic stick defences,
disarms and controls from the Escrima part of Brian Jones’ Integrated Kun Tao system.
The weekend provided a much-valued opportunity to meet, train and socialise with our
extended IKT family, and to thank the late Grandmaster Brian Jones for passing on this
wonderful art.
The next gathering of the Integrated Kun Tao family will take place at the Summer Camp in
Peterborough from 21 st - 23 rd August 2026. See ‘Events’ page for more details.
